Hot Couples..Not Couples

So I watched last night my DVR'ed episodes of GH. Again, unlike most of the GH posters, I enjoyed the show. Yes, its not the glory of the old days but once you put that dead dream to bed then you can begin to enjoy (tolerate) what we have now.

Johnny and Olivia are, wow, hotter than hot. WOW! Again. Though Johnny being completely oblivious to any connection at all between Dominic and Olivia, though Dominic is at her house almost as much as he is, is completely ridiculous. My kids all have some sort of resemblance to me, even the ones that look completely like there father have a little bit of me in there that folks can see. Johnny doesn't see any resemblance in this mother and son duo at all?! Though EVERYBODY all over town is going to start seeing all sorts of similarities between him and Sonny soon. Freakin' hilarious.

Dominic is awesome. Dominic calling Claudia on her bluff was great. Telling her that hey it was a win-win for him. Go head and tell Sonny that Olivia is his mother, works for him, either way the threat keeps her away from Johnny or the reveal will. Good move on his part. He rocks and he is so terribly charming with Lulu. It really makes me like her again, I mean like her as in when she first came on the show and looked just like Laura and was rocking all her scenes with her deadbeat dad, like. Yeah that's major. But alas I stopped watching for two years too so hey I got to miss some of her horrid over the top shrewness (that I read on the net).

Sam and Jason are still tolerable. Okay, I'll admit it, I am enjoying them too! I like the softer side of Jason leveling out the hitman crap. At first the whole set up with the pregnant lady in Devlin's old house collapsing, I thought was just too obviously leading us back down the "Sam lost her and Sonny's child" emotional cliff (which I tend to try to block out the fact that she was pregnant by Sonny at one time because that a). still makes me nauseous that her baby and her sister Kristina would have had the same father and b). still angers me that Jason was so willing to take in and shack and then fall in love with Sonny's floozy mistress who lived down the hall from his said wife that he cheated on at the time...breathe, breathe, breathe...haa thats me trying to calm down) but I found myself forgetting all that past crap that causes a bit of bile to rise and caught myself getting caught up in Sam's angst and Jason's attempt to comfort her. Wow, he immediately knew where Sam's mind was going, and that reminded me that he was the one who had to tell her that her baby died and he was the first one to hold her baby and was singing to her quietly, and I was a goner snotting and crying along with Sam. Anything emotional involving Jason can easily move me. I'm simple like that.

Liz/Lucky/Nik and kind of Rebecca and then Helena and Ethan. I appreciated Ethan being apologetic to Lucky at his surprise engagement party and I also liked him siding with Lucky immediately in the presence of conniving Helena, like a real brother would-hello Nikolas?! But I still loved Helena taunting Nikolas and Liz about their tawdry affair behind Lucky's back. She nailed them both (no pun intended) and it tickled me so that she was calling Liz all sorts of names and was quite right as a matter of fact. Liz is no sainted angel, like they paint her to be. I still like her but they are writing her in such a way that can make a viewer hate her IF she didnt in fact constantly admit that what she was doing to Lucky is extremely wrong and he deserves better.

LOVED Helena blatantly calling Rebecca a twit, and thoroughly enjoyed how stupid Rebecca looked and sounded trying to be cocky and claiming that Helena couldn't do anything about HER AND NIKOLAS. That was tear jerking funny. I called her an idiot right along with Helena. Poor child, is completely clueless, that no one, and apparently not even the writers, have any interest in her character any more. Nik has thoroughly moved on. To his brothers fiance, and dead soul mates best friend! Good times..ha ha ha..

I'm sorry I was disgusted at first, but now I've drunken the kool-aid that is GH, and I am now drawn into a possible Nik and Liz pairing, only because I know it will never work, and I am just looking forward to the good soapy fall outs in the interim. Once they are exposed and allowed to actually be together their will no longer be any "hot burning passion" between them. Trust me. Liz keeps saying "her and Lucky want the same things" and she's right. Nik doesn't even know where Spencer is half the time let alone care about spending time with family. Liz and Lucky are all about family and doing fun things together. So once the big betrayal reveal happens, their passion and longing will fizzle. And we will be left with good hurdles for Lucky and Liz and Nikolas to overcome (big elephant in the room!) to get back to loving each other and being close again.

Last but not least. Claudia and Sonny. Yeah, not so much. Her character is already ridiculous but having her constantly REASSURE Sonny that "she is so happy" to be his wife is downright naaaauseating. So ready for Claudia to exit stage left.

Oh, got to mention that I also enjoyed Olivia's meeting with Anthony Zacchara. She is a strong woman. What's in the water in Bensonhurst, geesh? But, my only thought during this interaction was that for a woman who wanted to keep her son away from violence and the mob ALL HIS LIFE, she is thoroughly entrenched in it now, with not the least bit of fear and or hesitation. Talk about a contradiction. Classic case of  Dante! Do as I say do and not as I do, if I ever saw one!

Thoughts on Last Week's shows..(October 12-16th)

Here is a hodge podge of miscellaneous quick thoughts. Do not expect rhyme or reason or even plain sense..Hmm much like GH itself. but onward ho..

Umm Did Kristina seriously say that Carly is a better mother than Alexis? I'm paraphrasing but that of course is the message that we were supposed to receive from her talk with Michael. I do feel for Kristina and I was mad, sad and a little tearful during that whole horrible "moment" with Keifer. But seriously are the viewers supposed to think that Alexis is horrid because she wants her daughters to NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES as she did growing up and  have her "girls (Sam included!) live safe happy lives. And Carly, seriously... Carly, who allows her kids to be raised by gangsters and carted around by hitman, and shoot hey even sleazy Coleman was okay last week to momentarily keep Morgan, is supposed to suddenly be super mom. Come on seriously? People I love to hate Carly, hey, she entertains me, but only when they keep characters clear and simple. Carly does not = model of great parenting. Sorry.

I did feel sorry for Sam when she was talking with her mom (Alexis), I can understand that she would be hurt and she would ASSUME that her mother doesn't love her, but Alexis made it clear that she DID indeed love Sam very much, but still did not approve of her sleeping and carousing around with mobsters and hitman. Still don't see where Alexis is wrong. Sam is grown and can do and screw whomever she wants, yes, BUT Molly and Kristina are not and a responsible parent -SEE ALEXIS- would tell her grown single child to not do certain things in front of adolescent and other teen children. Points her FOR ALEXIS not against. Geesh.

Enjoyed Johnny and Olivia being torn apart, and wanted to enjoy him being in agony a bit longer over loosing her, but alas, they will be back in each others arm soon enough, and I'm a bit disappointed. That's odd. I think, its Olivia, she's not making much sense. How can you preach to Dante, and yet be sleeping with fellow mobster co-hort who is said son's age? Too many contradictions; you want Dante away from mob but its okay to hop in bed with them because your the mom?  Eh? Never mind.

Helena and Luke amuse me. Ethan and Luke do not.

DIANE came back briefly. But what was up wit that horrendous hairdo? Yeesh. And a very clumsy attempt to explain her and Milo. The man was hit by a car! I don't care what arguments you had prior to this you immediately take your butt over to the hospital (is that where he is or has he been discharged yet?) and see him for yourself. I mean why use that small bit of screentime, (glad to have her back briefly from Cougartown!) she was in to have a meaningless conversation with Alexis when she could have had a truth telling, good soapy, oh I love you, I can't be with you but I had to make sure you were all-right moment with Milo which would have given us a wee bit of closure. Nope.

What's the point of Rebecca? Oh my gosh she's horrible and back to being Emily, but without the excellent Quartermaine history and connections. Her scenes with Nikolas are annoying and when he looks put out talking to her, I seriously imagine that Tyler Christopher just might really be annoyed. Her humming and umming and constantly stroking the side of his face and saying Nikolas over and over, is annoying me to no end.

Sam and Jason are cute, but Sam is slipping slowly back into ditz mode and loosing all the cground that she has recovered since their original breakup. I'm not a fan of Sam but I did PREFER her showing strength, and independence. When she talks to other people she can stand still and clearly make her points. When she talks to Jason...whats with all the hand waving and constant wiping of her face and flopping of her hair. Is Kelly Monaco attempting to convey flirtation? well if so KNOCK IT OFF..It's too over the top. Just talk to Jason like you've got some sense and lets enjoy them being repaired. And this is from someone who is NOT a Jasam fan, but a happy Jason makes me a happy viewer.

Ohhh yeah..quick point.

What in the world was that whole Sam is mistaken for a hooker scene and they get arrested crap about? That was pointless. And kind of insulting if you ask me. I read another blog that said that several of the writers on the GH staff were women, so why would they EVER allow some of these horrific women hating storylines be prtrayed...This scene brought that to mind. Why would the writers and directors and those running this show, think that having Sam be mistaken for a hooker would be great entertainment? The whole thing was pretty stupid. And insulting. I already said that didn't I? Here it is again, that was insulting GARBAGE.

Oh, the Carly, in labor, Coleman contraband french fries, and Johnny being hammered, scenes were funny, especially when Johnny was attempting to talk and Carly kept squeezing his hand during her contractions. That amused me and they seemed sweet for continuing to stick by her until Jax arrived. Which to me took too long? Why wasn't he immediately notified, instead of running behind Olivia making sure Dante stays on the case.

Enough.

Johnny's Pain

I havent blogged about GH in over two years.. I dropped the show and just read other blogs and posts to keep myself up to date on the latest news. So I recently tuned back in say three months ago and nothing much has changed. I can say I totally missed most of the Claudia fiasco and I am so happy for that but I am intrigued with Johhny and when I left he was the new bad boy in town and introduced as Lulu's new boy toy. But now he's involved in this wonderfully surprising romance with Olivia to which now I reach my point.

She was blackmailed into dumping him and Ohhhh...My goodness..I felt his pain. I was crying and snotting for him during the gutwrenching breakup that he had to endure. Poor Johnny! When he flew at Claudia ready to (and I quote) bash her head in I was like whooaaa too much..and then he explained that Olivia was his safe place, his getaway from the filth of the mob that is his life, I am not ashamed to say I teared up even more. I think Brandon Barash rocked those scenes. He sold it to me at least. And when he went back to Olivia's door to return her key and begging to know why she would do this, telling her to trust him and just let them deal with Claudia together (smart boy that he is knew that this was his sisters doing) I ached for Olivia to tell him about Dante. Alas she did not and Johnny left broken hearted and punching walls, inflicting further his pain on himself. Hey it moved me. As you can see from this post Im still moved. I woke up this morning thinking about Johnny Zacchara, and yes I am aware its a character and it is a show. But still, on the heels of a great non-wedding last week and great karaoke fun, the return to business as usual (i.e. the fixation on the mob and Sonny) I was happy to get enthralled in a soapy breakup. Now I just pray with Sarah Brown's impending exit that the TPTB do not seriously throw Olivia in Sonny's bed, because a) that will be the death of her character completely (see..Kate Howard) and b) Sonny should not always get the girl. Let somebody else win for once and I would love for it to be Johnny Zacchara!

In case your wondering. I still love Jason. Hate the mob, hate the hitman, still love Jason though. Im a mess.. HA!
